Thom, painter, author, traveler and 30 year professional artist offers a hands-on workshop that will challenge you to realize your artistic potential using on location demos, from sketch to the studio in acrylics and watercolors.
Thom Ricks invites you to participate in a two week hands on workshop that dares you to dream your fullest artistic self. He inspires and encourages students to reach discover and reach for their inherent artistic strengths. Thom will take you on an adventure into the medieval hillside towns in the Umbrian region to hone your eye to find those great compositions, to sketch on location, then bring them to life in the studio through acrylics and watercolors. Students of all levels are welcome. He will meet you where you are with individual instruction and suggestions as well as group demonstrations while on location and in the studio. For those of you wanting more, Thom will share with you tips on drawing, architecture, composition, the business of creating an exhibition from this trip, and ideas for creating a sketchbook from the art you create while you are here.
