On the Other End of the Phone

La Romita gave a fond farewell to Jenny Volkert in March this year. Jenny was one of the anchors of La Romita, who over the past eight years managed the office in Washington DC and was that friendly voice over the phone anwswering all questions concerning the school, the travel, and that wonderful country called Italy. Jenny recently moved to Boston with her husband and daughter to start a new adventure.

While Jenny will be sorely missed, La Romita was fortunate to find Tracy Posey to lead our office in Washington D.C.

With nearly twenty years experience in the visual arts as an arts administrator, arts advocate, curator, collector, creative consultant and organizer of cultural initiatives and design and art exhibitions, Tracy has successfully managed the administrative, financial and operational affairs of several leading non-profit, for profit, volunteer and artistic organizations.

An inveterate traveler, Tracy spent several years in Paris where she pursued cultural and artistic interests and synthesized a lifelong love of art and design. A patron of the arts and a member of several cultural organizations and museums on both sides of the Atlantic, Tracy is well-versed in the art community. She serves as a Volunteer Information Specialist at the Freer and Sackler Galleries of the Smithsonian Institution and was a docent at the National Museum of Women in the Arts and is a constant on the national and international contemporary art scenes.

While in Paris, Tracy provided technical and stylistic assistance to several photographers specializing in interior architecture and developed a glowing reputation as a design specialist and art consultant with a discerning eye. She has also served as creative consultant and collaborator on several short film and video productions. An avid jewelry collector, Tracy has an enviable collection of distinctive, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Most recently, Tracy was director of a prominent upscale gallery in the trendy Dupont Circle area of Washington and was previously the Administrator of the DC Chapter of Arttable, an organization for prominent women leaders in the visual arts.

She currently divides her time between Washington, DC and Paris.
