La Romita Residency Program

La Romita’s Residency program provides artists and writers with opportunity to pursue their discipline in an environment conducive to reflection and artistic exploration. Residents work in their preferred manner and at their preferred pace: quiet focus is easily found within La Romita’s grounds, while inspiration and discovery abound in the surrounding countryside.

The Residency accommodates 1 – 3 individuals at any time and is conducted while regular workshops are in session. This creates opportunities for interaction and ensures a rich experience for residents and workshop participants alike.

Price: $1000/week

Travel: La Romita is located in the hills just outside of Terni, Italy. Residents are responsible for their own travel arrangements to and from La Romita. Our staff can arrange for quick trips to town for necessities (including art supplies) and help residents sort out bus and train schedules if they wish to travel further abroad.  If a workshop is in session, residents can join the group for offsite excursions.

Meals: Residents are provided with a continental breakfast, cold lunch, and hot dinner of seasonal regional cuisine prepared by La Romita’s cooks. If a workshop is in session, residents are welcome and encouraged to eat all meals with the group.

Work Spaces: Residents with a fine arts focus are granted special use of the Enza Quargnali Studio, a stocked and well appointed private art studio not open to regular workshops.

Residents are featured in our publicity materials and on our website, calling attention to our efforts in following our mission.
