Painting and Exploring the Hilltowns

Carol Cooper : July 12- July 26, 2008

see photos below

Carol Cooper is returning to La Romita and she hopes you will join her for a painting adventure you will treasure forever.  Embrace the beauty and history of ancient hilltowns while painting on location. Carol Cooper’s luminous, loose style and strong design sense have won her many awards.  Her generous spirit is felt among all her students as she makes learning fun.  Carol will give many demonstrations and several informal group critiques.  Individual help will always be available.  One of Carol’s many artistic strengths is working with beginners and intermediate painters.  The advanced painter will be supported and challenged as well! The class will travel almost everyday to a different hilltown sketching, painting, and exploring.  (There will always be time for lovely cappuccino each day!)  These excursions will provide a wealth of subjects when painting in the chapel studio at La Romita.

Beyond her two degrees in Art, Carol has studied with many renowned artists.  Carol’s artwork has been in over 40 group and solo exhibitions including Watercolor USA.  She is currently teaching watercolor at a small college in Arkansas as well as conducting watercolor workshops nationally and abroad.  Carol is the author of No Experience Required: Watercolor (North Light).  The spirit of La Romita, the chapel studio, the courtyard, the olive grove, the art, the friendship, the food, and the charming hilltowns all add up to the experience of a lifetime.  This workshop is for you!
